Rochester Gas & Electric Bill Pay Options
If you have recently moved to Rochester and plan to apply for a connection from RG&E, you may want to know how you can pay your bill each month. The company provides the following payment methods for its customers –
Online: Pay your bills online using the internet payment facility offered by the RG&E. You can either register an account and pay your bill or do a one time payment without any registration.

Auto Pay: With AutoPay, you won’t ever have to worry about making bill payments every month. RG&E will automatically debit your bank account with your bill amount each month. The company will deduct the payment only after 23 days from mailing your bill. As such, you will receive your bill before the amount is deducted. To use this service, you must submit an application form together with a letter that authorizes the company to debit your account each month with your energy bill
By Mail: If your prefer to pay through mail, send your checks or money orders together with your payment stub to –

In Person: You can also walk into any of the RG&E offices and pay your bills. Or you can pay at any authorized payment center approved by the company. These include any Walmart or Kmart location nationwide. If you live or work near a CheckFreePay or Western Union branch, you are also provided with the option to pay your bills there. This part service providers may charge you a convenience fee for this service.
Gift Card: RG&E also issues gift cards in the denominations of $25, $50 and $100. If you have received any such gift cards, then you can use them as a form of payment. they can be redeemed only at the company’s customer service office. Third party service providers will not accept RG&E gift cards as payment
You will be charged a late payment fee at 1.5% of the past due amount if you do not pay your bills by the due date. You can call customer service and request for a payment arrangement to be made in case you are having financial difficulties. However, if your income situation is very bad, then your best option would be to apply for energy assistance. Programs like LIHEAP are designed specially to help low income households pay their energy bills.
